Second year we stayed at Centara Villas Samui,the hotel is big, nice and very quiet, located in Laem Set and being the only hotel on that beach since their neighbor Laem Set Inn is abandoned since many years ago. The beach is sandy, but the sea is low, First time I was there in April (very low) this time in June (as low tide as before) nothing for swimmers, to get to deep sea you have to walk over corals and even thou it isn t really easy. The hotel offers Shuttle bus service to Chaweng and Lamai for 30 and 40 THB x person and way. Be aware to be on the meeting point at least 15 min. before pick up time as they were 10 min. early on our 11 o clock pick up time from Lamai and lefted us. We were forced to pay 10 times more (400 THB) for a taxi to get back. The Hotel has a very nice breakfast, with lot of choices to different palates, fruits, juices, food like pad Thai, pancakes, dim sum, salmon, cheese, egg station, you won t get bored, they also have buffet in the evening some days which are very good (aprox.850 THB x adult) The gym (located on the opposite side of the road where the Butterfly Garden is, is very complete. You can borrow mountain bikes from the hotel as well. there are 3 pools, 1 child friendly, another smaller but deeper where you can practice diving some day a week (but we never found anyone) and the butterfly pool by the beach. The staff in the reception and room cleaning ladies are all very kind and polite, but in the restaurant is only the female staff who is friendly. If you want to relax and enjoy a roomy bedroom and a nice swim in the pool and very good food this is the hotel for you. The hotel is beginning to need an update and as it is so isolated I would recommend to plan properly schedule activities for your guests, mostly young guests. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]
